The company provides continued covert surveillance training as needed, and works with agents on individual cases to assure their success working in their roles as undercover law enforcement officers. They monitor the cameras to assure that they are working properly;,set up notifications when needed, conduct updates, reboot systems, check environmental conditions of the equipment, and offer hosting options.

Where did your company name originate from?
Covert Law Enforcement (2010) was developed out of the need for an outdoor covert video surveillance system that had a self-contained extended battery life, remote view, remote control, remote monitoring, exterior alarm inputs (such as a trip wire), as well as a dynamic and rapid deployment.

Founding owner Slade Gurr started the business after 10 years of experience in law enforcement. He worked as a detective in the Major Crimes Unit of the Logan City Police Department for five of those years. Slade has investigated all facets of criminal conduct, including homicide, child sex abuse, burglary, vandalism, and controlled substances. In February of 2014, Gurr turned his full attention to providing covert law enforcement clients with the full-time service they needed, and now he works part-time as a police officer. It is from some of these personal experiences that the features needed for an effective covert video surveillance system were developed.

Co-founding owner Steve Condie started his career as a 911 dispatcher and advanced into a technology powerhouse for all the law enforcement agencies in the Cache Valley Utah. Steve has written and designed a state-of-the -art dispatch website that is the envy of 911 centers nationwide. Steve has had experience working as a draftsman for a safe manufacturer, and has been educated and self-taught on some of the most difficult information technology platforms available. Steve manages all radio emergency communications for the 200,000 citizens located in Cache Valley. Steve’s unique skill set has made him the perfect candidate to develop Video Surveillance systems. It is from some of these personal experiences and unique abilities that the video surveillance systems of Covert Law Enforcement have been realized.

Why do you believe your products are essential to the public safety and security community?

Covert Law Enforcement produce essential surveillance options for law enforcement investigations. Our camera systems allow officers to live view and play back target location activity in order to insure officer safety prior to warrant service, and for review of criminal activities for prosecution.

What has been the biggest challenge your company has faced?
One of the biggest is getting law enforcement agencies to understand the differences between our equipment and some of the other stuff that is out there. Quality is key in our line of work, and our unique ability to monitor and control our equipment, as well as the various different fail safes we have in place, put us far above the competition. The battery life and night vision on our cameras far exceed that of our rivals.

What do your customers like best about you and your products?
We manufacture reliable quality equipment and we are available 24/7 for technical management if they ever encounter any problems.

What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder community?
Having worked as a first responder, we know that every Batman needs an “Alfred;” it is rewarding to know that we get to participate in one form or another in some of the biggest cases in the nation.

Do you support any charitable organizations within public safety?
We have close personal understanding of C.O.P.S. and financially support other charitable organizations within public safety when we can.

Is there any fun fact or trivia that you’d like to share with our users about you or your company? Co- founder Gurr maintains his certifications and understanding of the industry by working part time with the Logan City Police Department.
